The
Dream©

Katie Anderson had
the scariest dream any kid would call a nightmare. |
| Katie
Anderson walked into the kitchen in a daze. “Good
morning sweetheart. Do you
want any pancakes?” Katie’s mom, Emily said. “That’s
nice mom,” Katie said not even listening. Emily
walked up to Katie and snapped her finger in Katie’s face. “You ok, honey? You
look like you’ve just seen a ghost.” Emily said. Katie looked at her mom. “I had the strangest dream,” she said. Emily pulled out a chair and sat down. Can I hear about this “strange” dream?” she said. Katie
sat down too and told Emily her dream. “I
had a dream that I was in school right before the bell rang. Everyone
was staring at the clock waiting for it to say 2:30. It was 2:29 and everyone was getting ready to run out the
door. Our teacher, Miss
Reynolds, was sick and we had a substitute teacher, Mr. Owens. The ticker on the clock was moving. It was to the last number making it almost 2:30, the time when
school is out. But then it
stopped. It wouldn’t
move. Everyone in the classroom gasped. Mr. Owens turned around from the chalkboard and looked at the
clock. ‘Oh my!’ he
said, ‘The clock stopped. I
guess it will have to be fixed.’ We never got out of our seats. Finally,
a boy in our class, Louis, got out of his seat and headed towards the
door. Mr. Owens, without
turning around, said, “Young man, please sit down. Class
is not over yet until the bell has rung. Then
I stood up and said, “But the bell can’t ring. The clock is broken.” Mr. Owens looked at me and his eyes
almost glowed. “Well then, Mr. Owens said, “then I guess we won’t
leave this classroom until the clock is fixed.” Then he threw his head
back and gave me one of those evil laughs that you see in the movies. Then I woke up.” Katie finished telling her dream. Emily
looked at Katie and smiled. “Well,”
Emily said, “At least it was only a dream.” Katie nodded her head
and said, “Thank goodness for that.” Then Katie ate some pancakes. On
Monday, Katie went to school and when she got there, Katie’s friend,
Alexis, walked up to her and said, “Have you heard? Miss
Reynolds is sick we are going to have a sub-teacher.” Katie opened her
eyes real wide and thought, Could it be? Oh,
please no. She walked into
her classroom and looked for Mr. Owens. He wasn’t anywhere in sight.
A woman walked into the classroom. “Phew!”
Katie sighed. “ Hi,” said the lady, “I’m Miss Owens.” Katie
opened her eyes real wide and shouted “Noooooooo!!!” |
